PREPARING FOR AN INTERVIEW (cont…)

without comments

(cont…)
Don’t respond with comments about your hobbies, spouse, or extra curricular activities. Instead talk about your strengths, achievements, and qualifications for the position. Just remember to support the skills you mention with concrete examples. For example, instead of saying “I’m a hard worker,” go into detail by mentioning that you always make sure your projects are above standards and meet deadlines, and then cite any commendation that complements this. And don’t be too much proud in answering the questions, for it may leave bad impression to the interviewer. Get rid of one’s interview jitters by asking a friend to conduct a mock interview with you. It’s a chance to practice your answering technique and how’d you formulate your responses-live. Plus, you will get constructive feed. This will guide you towards improving your interview styles and presentation.

How to prepare a good resume?

Resume, Curriculum Vitae or Bio-Data is a personal information sheet of a person applying for a job. It is a piece of paper where in all the information to an applicant can be seen such as Name, Contact Information, Personal Information, Educational Attainment, Other Skills, Seminars Attended and Awards Received, Previous Working Experience if available and Personal References. I will now give tips on how to prepare a comprehensive resume:

1. According to one seminar that I have attended “Preparing a Good Resume”. In the trends today, Picture in the resume is not necessary because most of applicants apply thru job fair which requires appearance to the booth of the company. Or even through walk-in that requires the applicant to drop-by the office and apply personally.

2. Most of the e-mail addresses in the Resume of applicants are improper and must be changed to a proper one by putting it in a pattern, lastname_firstname@email.com.
